The Governor - Dr Titilayo Adesanmi

Dr TITILAYO ADESANMI, medical doctor of twenty-five years’ experience is a practising Paediatrician who has been involved in child health care in various capacities in faith-based hospitals, the public and private sectors in various geopolitical zones in Nigeria.

She is a member of the West African College of Physicians and a fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College in Paediatrics. Recently, she co-authored some chapters in a major text book used in teaching paediatrics at both the undergraduate and post-graduate levels in Nigeria.

She is passionate about improving the quality of child care at all levels. Therefore she is a regular resource person on various child health matters on television, radio and for several schools in Lagos. She also hosts an Instagram page (drtitiadesanmi) where she regularly provides all child care givers with useful tips on child care. Presently she is the medical director at Lifefort Children’s Medical Centre, Surulere. She is happily married with three children.

Our Weekly Activities

Week 1

  • Inaugural meeting. What is parenting? What is the role of Christian teaching in Parenting?

Week 2

  • Project 1: Preparing for your unborn child. Discussion: Every participant is expected to share their findings on this topic with the entire group at this point.

Week 3

  • Seminar 1 (with Q & A based on topics discussed): Pregnancy, Baby delivery, new mum & new dad.

Week 4

  • Seminar 2 (with Q & A based on topics discussed): Child growth, development, feeding and nutrition

Week 5

  • Project 2: Creating family values, effective communication and life-long healthy relationship with your children.

Week 6

  • Inquiry based learning: The role of technology in parenting in the 21st century.

Week 7

  • Seminar 3: The challenges that confront the first time parent in today’s world. Discussion: Bring on more problems not yet mentioned. Person-centered solutions to each of these problems.

Expected Target Members

  • Men and women who are having their own children for the first time.
